Tempered steel wire: humid environment We recommend stainless steel wire springs for humid environments. Piano wire springs are 10 percent stronger than stainless steel springs.
We recommend springs made of a particular kind of stainless steel (AISI 316) if you plan to use them in environments where they will be contaminated by salt water or harsh chemicals.
